Comercial and Technological Partnership with Yuchai
The MWM-Tupy do Brasil Ltda. (“MWM”), has entered into a commercial and technological partnership agreement with the Chinese company Yuchai, one of the world’s largest engine manufacturers.
MWM has become the distributor of Yuchai products in Latin America, expanding its range of own engines, with emphasis on off-road applications, including diesel/electric hybrid solutions.
With the agreement, MWM also expands its portfolio of generator sets, starting to offer solutions for applications that require high energy capacity, such as datacenters.
The partnership also covers the distribution of marine engines for large work vessels, including applications for new fuels such as methanol and liquefied gas.
In the technological field, the agreement includes the development of biomethane and ethanol engines, meeting the high demand for viable decarbonization solutions that benefit from the renewable energy matrix available in the country, as well as studies for the localization of large engines, which would then be produced in Brazil.
Yuchai will also start using MWM’s spare parts distribution network (aftermarket), consisting of approximately 1,000 points of sale in the region, to serve current and future customers. Currently, thousands of Yuchai engines are already operating in Brazil, used mainly in the power generation, construction, and agribusiness sectors.
